5 C cookies

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 cups flour
3.5 tsp baking powder
1 cup chocolate chips (i always add more)
1 tsp baking soda
1.5 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup cornflakes
2 cups oats
1 cup coconut

beat together wet ingredients. sift together dry ingredients and add to wet. stir in chocolate chips, cornflakes, oats and coconut. bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.

*notes: i usually cut back a little on the butter - using about 3/4 cup instead of one cup. also, these seemed kind of salty to me so i cut back on the salt too (we use about one tsp...maybe a little less) other than that, i dare you to not eat the entire batch single-handedly. if you don't like coconut you can leave it out - but brent hates it and has eaten thousands of these cookies without uttering a single complaint.

i'm not sure where the name comes from...after much speculation the only thing melissa & i could come up with is that there are five c's contained in the list of ingredients. however, upon closer inspection we realized that there are acutally 6 c's. so the mystery remains...
